It is no secret that Software Industry is extremely productive and the pace of innovation is ground breaking. One of the foundations why it is so rapid in professional growth and efficiency is a constant and data based feedback loop on work results.
A task lifecycle in software industry is tracked on each step - everything is digital, all results are recorded and can be measured, traced back to and, what's the most important, unambiguously analysed. As everything is captured managers and employees have a clear view on the performance and improvement steps become obvious.
But what about traditional industries? We believe that vital components are missing:
Here the task creation and assignment is relatively straightforward, even the same tools can be used, but the difference is at execution, validation and approval stages. For instance, in construction industry the contractor finishes his job, and then a guy comes to check against an ideal example (before the construction start many things are pre-built, like doors, windows in the "ideal" space and the compared to), then goes to another contractor to check the door, then to another to check the floor and etc. McKinsey sees this way:
