A fun fact about

Consigment Note

One fascinating historical fact is that the concept of consignment dates back to ancient times when long-distance trade was conducted through a network of merchants and traders. In these early trade routes, the consignor would entrust their goods to a trusted agent or intermediary who would transport the goods to a distant location for sale.

To formalize the transfer of responsibility and ownership, consignors would provide a written note detailing the goods, their quantity, and any agreed-upon terms of sale. The consignee would sign this note as proof of receipt and commitment to sell the goods on behalf of the consignor.
